Corporate Christmas Gifting - What to do?

We are getting so close to Christmas that I am pretty sure those Christmas Carols playing in the Supermarket was not just in my imagination. If you are starting to wonder what, if anything, to give your clients this Festive Season you are not alone. If you’re not sure how to approach Corporate Gifting, here are a few tips to help you get through the holiday maze with your reputation and budget intact.

The Answer Is Yes

If you’re wondering whether or not you should give your clients gifts, let me clear up any doubt: you should. It is always a good idea to show your clients gratitude - especially at this time of the year. There is no doubt that you provide great value to them, but a nice well thought out gift of appreciation can really help demonstrate that you care. If your question is, “Should I?” The answer is yes!

Do Make It Personal

That said, be careful. In many cases, your best intentions can backfire. You want your gesture to be thoughtful and personal. The gift should be memorable for all of the right reasons - thoughtful, useful, consumed and with a story always helps.

Do Be Creative

If you have a client that is an avid wine lover send them an experience - wine tour with a gorgeous bottle of wine. This won't be forgotten. A memorable dining experience to a favourite restaurant bundled together with a gorgeous hamper - well planned and thought out.

Don’t Try & Cut The Budget Too Much

Consider how much you might routinely spend taking someone out for a nice meal. Yet, when it comes to gifts, businesses routinely try to work out how little they can spend. If everything in your business is Exceptional don’t undervalue your clients when it comes to showing your appreciation. In that case, sending nothing might be better than sending something.

This can be a way to get creative though - think it through and speak with a well-seasoned gift giver - they know all the tricks.

Remember This is Suppose To Be Fun!

Come on it is Christmas it is meant to be fun so go ahead and have fun with it. With a little bit of planning and creativity, you can give a gift that creates a lasting impression.
